Elion Clean Energy's Project of Transforming Coal-fired Boilers to Biomass Gasification Boilers Runs Stable in Guangrao County, Shandong Province
At the beginning of December 2025, a major progresss has been made on the transformation project of coal-fired boilers into the biomass gasification boilers for Elion Clean Energy Technology (Guangrao) Co., Ltd. – the project successfully completed its initial overall commissioning, achieving rated full-load heat supply operation of the waste heat boiler in a single attempt. This marks a solid and crucial step towards full operation of the project.
The core of this project's success lies in the advanced biomass gasification technology and key equipment provided by Hefei Debo Bioenergy Technology Co., Ltd. Debo customized and supplied two sets of large-scale biomass gasifier systems, each generating 18000m³/h syngas, a supporting advanced feeding system, and high-efficiency clean combustion technology for this project. This technical solution aims to transform the existing coal-fired boiler system into an efficient and clean biomass gasification utilization system, achieving a green upgrade of the energy structure.
The smooth progress and successful commissioning of the project benefited from the close collaboration and joint efforts of multiple professional teams. Elion, as the project owner, provided full support and comprehensive logistical guarantees from the very beginning, creating excellent conditions for the project team to overcome difficulties and move forward efficiently. The sincere cooperation and collaborative efforts of all parties secured the successful completion of the commissioning in one time.
The successful achievement of rated full-load operation of the waste heat boiler during this commissioning not only verifies the high reliability of the overall project design, equipment performance, and installation and commissioning quality, but also directly demonstrates the feasibility and huge potential of biomass gasification technology in achieving efficient and clean energy utilization in actual industrial scenarios. After the successful transformation, this project will effectively utilize biomass resources, replace part of fossil fuels, and significantly reduce pollutant emissions. It is another concrete practice to promote the clean and low-carbon transformation of regional energy and contribute to the achievement of the "dual carbon" goals in China.
This project will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 180,000 tons annually.
