Anhui Provincial Officials Conducted A Field Survey at Hefei Debo's Project
On January 17, 2025, a delegation of provincial leaders including Sun Yong, Vice Governor of Anhui Provincial People's Government; Cao Shaobing, Director of Anhui Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment; Tang Yang, Deputy Director of Anhui Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs; and Zeng Xiaoming, Deputy Director of Anhui Provincial Energy Bureau, conducted an inspection tour at Hefei Debo Bioenergy Technology Co., Ltd.'s production base in Feixi County. The visit focused on guiding and evaluating the company's biomass gasification-based cogeneration and hydrogen production projects.
During the inspection, Mr. Zhang Shoujun, Chairman of Debo Bioenergy, provided a comprehensive presentation on the base's two core projects:
-
Biomass Gasification Cogeneration
-
Biomass Gasification-to-Hydrogen Synthesis, with downstream production of natural gas, methanol, and aviation fuels
He detailed:
-
Debo's extensive R&D achievements in biomass gasification equipment
-
Demonstrated applications of the technology across multiple scenarios
-
Breakthrough innovations from international collaborations
-
Debo's 2024 operational performance and 2025 development roadmap
Regarding the current utilization status of agricultural and forestry waste in Anhui Province and nationwide, Zhang Shoujian analyzed the existing challenges and proposed targeted solutions. He emphasized that enhancing the utilization rate and added value of agricultural and forestry residues through technological innovation and industrial chain ecosystem development holds significant importance for advancing biomass energy development in Anhui and across China.
Vice Governor Sun Yong highly commended Debo Bioenergy's achievements in biomass gasification technology and praised the company's 17 years of persistent dedication. He emphasized that biomass energy, as a clean, renewable, and carbon-neutral energy source, plays an irreplaceable role in advancing energy transition and sustainable development both in Anhui Province and nationwide.
"Agricultural waste management has long been a persistent challenge in rural non-point source pollution control," Sun noted. "Debo's innovative approach to utilizing crop straw and other waste materials not only effectively addresses this issue but also injects new vitality into the biomass energy industry."
Sun particularly stressed that while environmental friendliness remains the cornerstone of straw utilization, high-value applications are the key driver for sustained industrial growth. "Only by establishing a solid economic foundation can the industry maintain inexhaustible momentum for long-term development," he asserted.
To further promote biomass energy development, Sun issued clear directives:
-
The Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment will take the lead in coordinating with the Departments of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and Energy.
-
Establish collaborative platforms with participation from industrial investment funds to fully support enterprise development.
He encouraged Debo to:
-
Leverage its technological expertise and talent advantages
-
Deepen its commitment to clean energy innovation
-
Increase R&D investment
-
Strengthen core technology breakthroughs
-
Accelerate industrial-scale replication of achievements
